Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Planning Authority

The Fort Monmouth Earth Renaissance Peace Alliance, www.fmerpa.us, considers
all life forms of earth to be members. No membership fees are necessary.
None are excluded. In light of this notice of interest alliances with other
groups are formed to help to further the mission of healing, peace,
nonviolence, reconciliation, revitalization, cooperation, respect, honor,
courage, celebration, community, common good, compassion, love and a common
earth and universe story that embodies our interconnectedness with all.

The ways of violence, wars, domination, repression, looting and pillage must
be stopped and transformed. All life depends on this. This must be a time
of the great turning from empire to earth community. Fort Monmouth must be
a model for this. For the new mission all considerations must meet the
benchmark questions of

1. Will this help heal?
2. Does this do no harm?
3. Is this nonviolent, compassionate and peaceful?

All are needed in this new mission and every voice must be considered and
heard in a council of all beings.

The great and wonderful talents and life experiences of all current fort
employees and contractors and fmerpa staff and board members and extended
community are needed for this kairos moment of great decision. It is clear
that there must be a fundament shift in thinking and consciousness for earth
survival of all species, including humanity.

This shift must permeate every federal agency involved-parks and recreation
(re-creation), education (for healing and peace), public health, corrections
and law enforcement (earth charter), housing, commerce (green business,
clean renewable energy research and development), develop emergency
management (climate crisis, poverty, inequality, racism, classism, climate
crisis/destruction), homeland security (earth as home- as nurturing life
giving mother), wildlife management, historic conservation (earth
conservation), air and water transportation. In every area we must choose
life healing ways.

Some practical steps we would like to promote at Fort Monmouth Peace Museum,
Center for world religion and ethical thought dialogue at the chapel, peace
academy or department of peace where West Point Prep was located, an area
for children’s peace fair and learning cooperative games and green festivals
including business, a peace train station, a center for celebrating peace
through the arts, culture, dancing, food.

The time frame would be now until it would no longer be needed because
swords would have been turned into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks.

Buildings would be the ones from a dialogue with fmerpa staff.

Jobs would be many depending upon which areas fmerpa would grant space and
buildings.

 The Master Plan- The Master Planner

The master plan has already been written- it is to love one another- it is to heal and to be healed–it is to care for one another and all of creation- it is to evolve in consciousness to where we see and understand that we are all connected- that we are all related- that we are all sisters and brothers

The master plan is for all to live in harmony with all creatures large and small- the master plan honors every life form- every species- every drop of water- every mountain and valley- all of earth and sky

The master plan is all about respect and walking in balance and harmony- the master plan respects the weak and vulnerable- those living in poverty- hunger- inequality- misery- the master plan protects those whose voice is not heard-
The master planner is not you or me- how arrogant to think that that we are the master planners- what a mistake to think we are the master of this place- of earth- of the universe- this stinkin’ thinkin’ would lead to a master/ slave mentality of exploitation- of greed of destruction- of domination- of genocide- of biocide- of ecocide- of geocide- of loss of heart- mind- and soul

The real master plan is that we are but a strand in the vast web of life- that everything is part of the other- there is no other- there is no over there- we are all one- the master plan gives us a choice to choose life- to choose to evolve in love- concern- compassion- understanding

This is a kairos time- this is a crossroads- at this very moment- in this very place-we must be very clear- our choices will have a direct impact on whether we go hand and hand into the future- together with all of creation- an earth community- into an earth renaissance- or if we shall choose to ignore the signs of the times- and continue on the course of the sinking ship- and of marching forward in quick sand- and perishing together in the desert

We try to live in denial of the largest spasm of extinction of species since the dinosaurs- we might try to ignore the cancers - the melanoma- the asthma- the toxic water. land- air- and sea- the dying oceans- the loss of top soil- the global warming- the climate change crisis- but every moment we wail- is a lost opportunity- to reverse the course in what some scientists- engineers- biologists- physicists- think is a quickly approaching moment of irreversibility- of no turning back

So we must wake up- wake up- wake up from our slumber- every moment is precious- every decision is vital to everyone- the bottom line- will this help heal our patient- mother earth and the entire earth community- she is in critical care- and if she does not make it into recovery- neither will we-

Earth provides the life support systems needed for all to survive- the waters- are the life blood of earth- the trees- the lungs of earth- the soil the body of earth- we can not harm the air- the water- the soil- any life form - any species- without harming ourselves- we must stop these actions which are suicidal to our very existence

We must choose very clearly and without hesitation for life- in every form and essence- on every continent- and in every ocean- public policy must be in line with earth policy- economics in line with ecology- look how the trees recycle everything- their leaves fall to the ground and become soil to nourish the roots again

We must do a complete 180- and turn our lives around- we must face all of our fears and addictions- including consumerism- individualism- materialism- militarism- greed- and violence- we can and must choose a complete transformation- be not afraid. choose peace- earth community- a beautiful earth renaissance awaits us al1- but we must repent and act today

We need nothing short of a miracle- to make this happen- we must believe in miracles- and we must create a miracle- a revitalization- a coming back to life

Questions Concerning Fort Monmouth Public Assets and Taxpayer Resources

1. When will there be an investigation into the appraisal of Fort Monmouth being awarded to the family business of the lobbyist for the Patriots Alliance who are trying to get the same buildings, labs and land for his clients?

2. Isn’t this a blatant conflict of interest to appraise government assets that you want to be privatized and given to you for free or at firesale prices along with huge tax breaks. What about the revolving door between the pentagon and private sector paybacks?

3. How is the Patriots Alliance a nonprofit entity when they represent multibillion dollar defense corporations who are making obscene profits from war profiteering? Was the public invited when Gov. Corzine met with the patriot’s alliance?

4. Does this private war profiteering of $720 million a day lessen the incentive for peaceful alternatives?

5. Why is Fort Monmouth hoping that Monmouth County will take over the fort’s dumps as green space and nature walking trails? Why did county Freeholders get rejected from a Feb. 20, 2008 tour of the toxic dumps? Is this a type of trojan horse gift that will lead to taxpayers liability for cleanup in years to come? Why was there talk of removing monitoring wells because of cost? Is this a literal coverup? Why was the model geothermal renewable energy system at Fort Monmouth disconnected?

6. Why do fmerpa- fort monmouth economic revitalization planning authority members go on travel junkets to Miami, San Diego, and next week to New Orleans where  Frank Cosentino and Rick Harrison are spending $4,739 of your tax dollars.  How did Frank stay extra time last year in California and get an extra over $1,000 and a wink and a nod from Gov. Corzine appointee Bob Lucky?  Why did state lawyers not object to a lessening of oversight?  Why are bills never listed anymore on the paperwork at public meetings and never voted upon when it is done at other government meetings?

7. Why did FMERPA then raise the spending limit to $2,500 that could be spent without the authority’s approval and only requiring the signature of Bob Lucky.

8. Why don’t cable public access channels not cover these public meetings?

9. Why doesn’t other media like the Asbury Park Press act like lap dogs not watch dogs on these issues?

10. Why did the Asbury Park Press interview a person arrested for speaking over 3 minutes at a FMERPA meeting and not publish anything?

11. Is all of this a type of grand theft pentagon or an inside job of robbing state assets from the public treasury?

12. Why as of 2005 does the BRAC (base relocation and closing) require the public to buy back assets that we already paid for and were given back to the community prior to 2005? Is this a type of military coup d’ etat and shift of power and money from the people to the pentagon and private military multibillion dollar war profiteering contractors?

13. Why is the Paterson veterans hospital/ clinic at Fort Monmouth closing and already 4 doctors removed? Isn’t this a criminal act of abandonment with all the growing needs of huge numbers of sick, maimed, and dying, and suicidal vets with TBI (traumatic brain injury), PTSI (post traumatic stress injury), DUP (depleted uranium poisoning-the new agent orange) and other cancers and health illnesses.

14. Why have military families been removed from the Howard Commons on Pinebrook Road in Eatontown and the area fenced off and gas turned off in hopes of mold growing and justifying the demolition of hundreds of units of housing even after they wee rehabbed for $20 million? Does this violate the McKinley Act law? Where do all the veterans who are homeless go?

15. Why are native American archaeological sites being ignored and possibly destroyed with the development?

16. Why are FMERPA subcommittees loaded with corporate lobbyists under the title public members and members of the public kept off the subcommittees and denied information.

17. Why are public meetings minutes censored and or partially deleted before signed by Gov. Corzine?

18. When will elected officials send investigators to uncover the potential fraud and corruption?

19. When will taxpayers demand accountability and get to the public meetings and subcommittee meetings as watchdogs?

If you like eminent domain abuse, privatization and corporate takeovers of the arts center and Sandy Hook, you will love the proposed invasion and occupation of Fort Monmouth by real estate speculators and corporate war profiteers.

I attended the last two meetings of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority and saw the vultures salivating and circling.

There will be some minor collateral damage. First have to force march those whiney, sick veterans and their family members out of the clinic/ hospital and off the base. Chew ‘em up and spit ‘em out. Next, close the homeless shelter and throw them out on the street. Better if done under the cover of night. No parades, no speeches.

The fix is on. A puppet director in place. The heck with swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks. No big money made there.

Beware the military industrial complex Eisenhower warned. What did that hippie general/ president know?

Pentagon, real estate, puppet director Robert Lucky loves the Patriots Alliance, a lobby front for military contractors. This marriage if consummated will lead to disaster, a dysfunctional family addicted to greed and violence in solving the challenges facing the Earth family.

The Patriots Alliance now has their own subcommittee and want to squelch further public comment. They called it filibustering. Bob Lucky agreed.

Last meeting went about an hour. I was the only one to speak during the public comment at the very end. I was given three minutes and rudely treated by both Bob Lucky and Vice Chair Virginia Bauer.

There was no time to speak of an alternative vision for Fort Monmouth - an expanded health and wellness facility for sick veterans and their families; keeping the shelter for people without homes and expanding it to include homeless vets; research and development for restoring Earth and our life support systems of air, water, land and East Coast;

Renewable energy lab, a solar energy site, green architecture, green business, an earth literacy center, an eco village, eco tourism, Earth charter study and implementation global warming study center. A global peace academy, arts, theater, teaching children organic farming, nonviolent conflict resolution, cooperative games, a children’s peace fair, a healing center to address all our addictions including consumerism, violence, war, empire.

Everybody is needed. There are jobs for all. The Patriots Alliance, though, must embrace peace and nonviolence and change their name to the Matriarchal Alliance-where our mothers, wives, sisters and daughters have a say too.

The only homeland security that makes sense in this time is to see Earth Mama as our home and to protect and serve all the Earth family of life. Every decision must take into account the next seven generations.

The choice now is either nonviolence or nonexistence. We must choose a new path for there to be future generations.

We can imagine it and we can create it.

Get to the next meeting and speak up.

 Questions Concerning Fort Monmouth Environmental Restoration

1. What table/display contains the pubic health study and assessment for Fort Monmouth base workers, military, and local residents who may have been exposed or contaminated by pollution, hazards and toxins in the air, water, soil on the base?

2. If there is no study, why has it not been done?

3. Are base workers, military and local residents aware of unusual illnesses or sickness for themselves or others.

4. Is the base really as clean as is being presented?

5. What are the costs for proper cleanup? Is there an economic interest in under reporting existing conditions?

6. What has been the record in toxic base cleanups around the country and world?

7. Why has the pentagon been seeking exemptions from US public health and environmental laws?

8. Have you researched the Fort Monmouth environmental documents at the Monmouth County library’s reference desk in Shrewsbury?

9. Why are these documents not available more easily on a Fort Monmouth, RAB or FMERPA website?

10. Why has the RAB- remediation advisory board been in existence for about a year, but the public has not been allowed to attend environmental briefing meetings? Why does the RAB report to the army, but not to FMERPA? Why is it called remediation, not clean up?

11. Why does FMERPA have a separate environmental subcommittee that has not been included on the year of environmental meetings?

12. How can the subcommittee determine how suitable something is for redevelopment when they have been excluded?

13. Who is liable if new occupants of the base get sick or find contamination (DOD, army, RAB, FMERPA environmental subcommittee, FMERPA, Eatontown, Tinton Falls, Oceanport taxpayers)?

14. Why does MATRIX want to privatize the remediation/ clean up?

15. Does this allow a bypass of regulations, laws and liability? Would Matrix also get the contract to oversee this? Is this a conflict of interest?

16. Does a NFA- no further action ruling by the NJDEP a mean that the site is clean or is it linguistic detoxification?

17. Does fencing off a contaminated area the best thing for future generations?

18. What is the condition of streams, ponds and bay areas at Fort Monmouth?

19. What effect has the pouring toxic things into the drains and sewage system had humans and on the ecosystem?

20. What effect have broken tanks and pipes carrying these things had on underground soils and water?

21. What is the status of the ash and toxic landfills? Is there a proper liner at every site?

22. What is the status of the toxic pit outside the Myer blg. that was covered with lime? Has it moved toward the blg.?

23. What about the radiation, PCB, asbestos contaminated sites?

24. How are sensitive native American sites being protected?

25. When will life support systems of air, water, earth protection be understood as important to survival?
